5 bakeries to try while you’re at Queen’s
"It’s not Northern Irish so good luck finding the likes of soda bread. I’m a tight Yorkshireman from the North of England where Greggs is part of the staple diet, even for toddlers where a sausage roll takes the place of a dummy!. But now that Greggs has just opened in Botanic Avenue, a short hop from campus, so you can get a hangover during sausage roll (although I think I prefer the steak and cheese roll)."

"Hailing from the North of England, I couldn’t leave this one out. Just because its Greggs, you don’t have to get a sausage roll. Instead, for just two quid, you can get a sausage or bacon bap with a coffee or for an extra quid, you can it properly and get a baguette."

"They’re all across Northern Ireland but there’s one next to the Waterstones in town and one has just opened on the Lisburn Road (perfect for those at uni in the MBC!) This place will do all your traditional breads only found over here. See my blog on Northern Irish foods for advice on what to order. I can promise you they’ll taste a heck of a lot better here than they will from any old supermarket!"

"A newer addition to the already excellent collection of attractions in Belfast's Titanic Quarter, HMS Caroline is one of the last surviving vessels to have seen service in both world wars. Recently refurbished, the ship was commissioned in 1914 and patrolled the North Sea, as well as participating in the pivotal Battle of Jutland. Opened in her present location to the public in 2016, a tour of this floating museum and its visitor center provides a great deal of fascinating information about WW1 and the ship's history."
