"Kieran and Imogen Waite’s Cotham Hill tapas joint, Bravas, finds itself at the top of many a Bristolian foodie’s favourites list, so it came as no surprise that this new venture was an instant hit when it opened on Gloucester Road in early 2014. Many come for the punchy and imaginative brunch menu: fresh juices, spicy huevos rancheros, sticky warm cinnamon buns and chilli and lime-spiked avocado smashed on to sourdough toast made in the open kitchen. The baking doesn’t stop at bread, either."

"These guys aren’t delivering, but if you can manage click and collect from Gloucester Road, Bakers & Co (one of my favourite brunches in Bristol) is definitely worth a visit. As well as a brisk trade in loaves to take away (on our visit there was a choice of sourdough or a vast prune and buttered oat number) and a counter heaving with fresh-from-the-oven Eccles cakes and cinnamon buns, the bakery is stocked with provisions like fruit and veg, cheese and dairy, Cacklebean eggs, Pump Street chocolate and bags of Workshop Coffee. "Farro has gone from strength to strength since opening its new bakery in Bond Street, having built up a name for itself at various markets across Bristol. As well as creating some incredible pastries, the company also places a strong focus on being as sustainable as possible. The building has lots of riveting period details, like a Tudor Rose and coat of arms of Abbot Richard Beere (1493-1524) above the entrance."
