"An Italian fellow once said to me that if you have more than five or six ingredients on a pizza, then it isn’t a pizza. It’s likely that Beerd’s bearded Matthew Gardiner met this fiery little guy and took it to heart, as it’s a bastion of superb, traditional pizza packed with Tuscan ingredients. The tomato, mozzarella di bufala and basil (£7.50) is as traditional as it gets, and lets the flavours talk."

A Craft Beer Guide to Bristol: The City's Best Breweries and Tap Rooms
"One of my biggest regrets when visiting Bristol is that I wasn’t able to visit Left Handed Giant due to them only being open during the summer months. The brainchild of the people behind one of Bristol’s best pubs, Small Bar, Left Handed Giant have gone on to become one of the most respected names in the UK beer scene. At the moment, their taproom positioned right at the start of the Bristol-to-Bath cycle path is modest, but thanks to a hugely successful crowd-funding campaign, they are in the process of moving to a new site in Finzels Reach, which has been home to several famous Bristol breweries over the years, most recently Courage brewery."

"25/05/2021: I was made to feel welcome from the second arrived, I had a small dog with me and was half expecting to be declined service, but this was not the case and I was actually invited to dine in the lounge area with him, instead of the outside area I’d requested. They were happy to make a classic cocktail that wasn’t on the menu and although the drink was ordered with the host, the waiter knew what drink I had ordered when I asked for a refill, it’s either great communication or an attentive waiter but either way it was a nice touch. I want to say his name was Barney but i sadly can’t rememberThe food was delicious and a nice size portion, I only had some small starters but my siblings ordered from the mains menu and seemed happy with their mealsAll in all a very positive experience and I’ll be back again"
