15 things to do in Brighton with kids
"Founded as a Victorian collector’s private museum, the Booth Museum is one of those slightly eccentric collections that the UK seems to specialise in – endless cases of birds displayed in their natural setting (complete with eagles pouncing on lambs) plus skeletons and dinosaur bones. Younger kids will probably be fascinated by it, including the two bears at the entrance, older ones might find it a bit creepier. Free to enter, although you have to walk through the shop on the way in and out."

Eight Museums in Brighton and Hove, England
"This Grade II listed building was built back in 1874 to house the collection of Edward Thomas Booth, the ornithologist. It’s a classic Victorian museum, a gallery lined with display cases on either side. Old fashioned and musty, the museum has a large taxidermy collection and a slightly austere vibe."

The Best Museums In Brighton
"The Brighton Fishing Museum is centrally located on Brighton’s seafront, right where Brighton’s fishing industry has been active for centuries – in fact, it still is today. Brighton’s fishermen bring in freshly caught fish and shellfish that are used by the many excellent seafood restaurants in the area. First opened in 1992, the Fishing Museum both highlights Brighton’s long-standing history in the fishing industry and draws a connection to today’s situation."

A Literary Weekend Getaway on the Isle of Wight
"From Portsmouth, you can reach both Fishbourne and Ryde and the reality is that either is a viable option depending on the location of your accommodation on the island. Either way, the journey takes approximately 45 minutes and ferries depart every half hour. If you would rather get across to the Isle of Wight in the shortest amount of time possible, Lymington will likely be your port of call given that you can make the crossing in under 35 minutes. Wightlink also services this port and although it may not have the same glamour as Southampton or Portsmouth, it is certainly a viable choice given that it offers the shortest ferry route."

15 Best Things to Do in Chichester (West Sussex, England
"On the southwestern edge of Chichester sits the largest Roman residence unearthed in Britain. The Fishbourne Roman Palace is also remarkable for its age, dating to AD 75, just three decades after the Roman Conquest of Britain. The palace was excavated in the 1960s, and was revealed to be about the same size as Nero’s Golden House in Rome."

The Best Contemporary Art Galleries in Brighton, UK
"Typical of Brighton’s progressive and left-wing mindset, the ONCA Gallery – which stands for the One Network for Conservation and the Arts – is a self-defining left-leaning art gallery. For those who love to contemplate paintings and installations, this gallery always has something provocative on display, often hosting exhibitions focused on activist and political themes. Past exhibitions have included a pop-up exhibition called Down to the Bone which raised awareness of the plight of street dogs in Spain and Portugal."

"The gallery that shows “real art for real people”, Conclave is Brighton’s newest addition with 95% of its artworks priced under £95 - including originals and limited edition pieces. Conclave recognises that many art lovers may not have the capacity for a four-plus figure spend, so affordability is at the heart of what they do - but that’s not to say the artwork here is of any lower quality, the team have an eye for finding the best up-and-coming work in town. 9 Queens Rd, Brighton BN1 3WA"
